General


  • What advantage do I get from the online-application?
    Online applications offer you and us significant advantages and we process them preferentially. You save ths costs of preparing paper application files and the postage and we can collect and process your application materials much more quickly. We take online applications just as seriously as “classical” applications. On principle we cannot accept applications sent by e-mail.

  • What documents should my application contain?
    To the extent possible, fill out all of the fields in the online application form. The more we know about you, the more precisely we can review possible employment areas for you. Attach additional documents such as your school, university, and work review/evaluations and certificates, etc. Please note that the file size of your application materials on our online application form may not exceed 2MB. Furthermore: Your business card is important even in an online application. Observe also correct German orthography, completeness of documents and keep your tone professional.

  • What should I absolutely pay attention to in my application?
    Prior to any application note our requirements, which you can read in the specific position announcement. Select the position you want to apply for with forethought and decide on at most two or three positions. You do not increase your chances if you apply for five or more positions and show us your decisive nature through your selections. For this reason always include your desired target areas even in your initial application. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted. Do not send us a short profile or reference to your website, but give us only complete applications using the online-application portal.

  • What happens to my application after I have submitted it?
    If you have applied for a specific position, Human Resources along with responsible departments will review your profile to see if it fits with this position. You will then receive information about the status of your application from our Human Resources team. The selection process can take several weeks. As soon as we can offer you a position that fits your application profile, we will contact you. Of course you can use our hotline at any time.

  • How can I apply if I don’t have internet access?
    You can create your application documents for example at your local Workforce Placement Centre (German abbr. BIZ).

  • How do I know that KOMSA has received my application?
    If you enter your email address in our online-portal, you will shortly receive an email confirmation.

  • What happens to my information?
    Careful handling of personal data is very important to us. We save your data in our system only until you inform us that you no longer wish to pursue your application. All data are of course treated with confidentiality and are subject to legally required privacy protections.

  • Can I withdraw my application?
    JaYes. Just briefly inform us that you wish to withdraw your application with KOMSA. Send an e-mail to jobs@komsa.com

  • Are the online position announcements up-to-date?
    KOMSA offers a wide variety of business and technical careers. We are always looking form new employees. The online position announcements are constantly updated and provide you with an overview of the currently open positions with KOMSA. Positions for which the selection process has already been closed are no longer viewable in the portal.

  • What do I need to remember when I come to my first day of work at KOMSA?
    If you haven’t already taken care of it, please bring your income tax card and any additional documents still needed for the formal completion of hiring. On your first day of work, you will learn from your director everything you need to know to be able to find your way around your new workplace. Additionally KOMSA offers new employees the Welcome-Program in the first weeks. This allows you to become quickly and comprehensively acquainted with the company KOMSA.

  • What opportunities for continuing education are there?
    Bei At KOMSA, employees always have the opportunity to further their professional development. We offer internal and external training events, so that you are always on the cutting edge of the times and can put what you’ve learned into practice right away.

Trainee


  • What distinguishes KOMSA’s Trainee Program from direct hiring?
    In the framework of our 22-month Trainee Program you become acquainted with all of the central departments of our company by spending time in each of them. In a short time you will supervise independent projects and make a lot of contacts. Furthermore, the KOMSA Trainee Program includes particpation in KOMSA’s leadership training [manager training].

  • How are trainees selected?
    Applicant selection proceeds in a multi-stage process. If your online application materials have convinced us of your suitability, we will invite you to take a screening test. The next step is participation in an applicant’s day at our company, in which you will have the opportunity to persuade us that you would make a good future trainee iin various group and individual tasks as well as in an individual interview.

  • Should I indicate my desired job assignment in my application?
    No, not necessarily. Only if you cannot imagine working in some area other than the one you really want. Then you should let us know.

  • What does mentoring during the Trainee Program look like?
    The director of the Trainee Program is the central contact person for all of the trainee’s organizational, operational and personal concerns as well as questions concerning trainee assignments in various departments. Additionally, there is someone responsible for trainees in every department in which a trainee is assigned. This employee is responsible for the trainee’s professional supervision, from presenting the field to the tasks assigned the trainee to evaluating the work results in that particular subject area. Every new trainee is assigned an experienced mentor who is available to deal with all questions concerning the Trainee Program.

Apprenticeship


  • Who can apply for an apprenticeship?
    If you completed a vocational high school with good or very good grades or hold a general or vocational school diploma and are interested in the ICT-industry, you should apply with us.

  • When can I apply for an apprenticeship?
    Applications for the current apprenticing year are accepted from September of the prior year until the end of February of that year, as a rule.

  • What application documents are necessary?
    First you need to completely fill out our online-application. The last two school transcripts and any reviews/evaluations from internships or other certificates should be included in your application as attachments.

  • What does the hiring process look like at KOMSA?
    Pre-selection, screening test, applicant’s day, interview.

  • What’s waiting for me in my first days at KOMSA?
    When you start an apprenticeship with KOMSA AG, you will become familiarized with the most important persons, departments and equipment of the KOMSA-Group in the framework of our Welcome Program. The apprentice trainer in your department will introduce you to your colleagues and your assigned work areas. With us, you are involved in our exciting daily business and projects from the very beginning and you will soon take on independent, responsible assignments.

    How long does an apprenticeship last?
    Apprenticeship at KOMSA takes three years, generally.

Students/Interns


  • Do I have to apply for a vacation job or a internship online?
    Yes, please fill out our online application form as completely as possible and include current training documents as attachments. Also indicate your desired period of employment and desired area of employment to us.

  • In what areas does KOMSA make temporary jobs available?
    We mainly offer jobs in our logistics area and in mobile telephone repair. In individual cases and after consultation, assignments in other areas are also possible.

  • In what areas does KOMSA make internships available?
    We offer primarily internships in the framework of university/college studies. Internships can be completed in almost all areas of the company. Possible areas of assignment are determined by our current need and your field of study, your prior knowledge [skills] , interests and qualifications.

    However, KOMSA also offers internships for second school students and internships in the framework of continuing education. Except for secondary school student internships, all internships should last about 6 weeks.

  • Can I apply for internship placement at any time?
    So that we can plan your assignment and prepare for it, you should apply with us around 2-3 months before the start of your internship. We plan internships around 1-2 months before the start of the internship. If you course of study [or training] requires an earlier decision, then inform us at jobs@komsa.com

  • What prerequisites should I bring with me?
    You should enjoy working in a team and be interested in the ICT-industry. Good computer skills are a prerequisite and English should not be a foreign language for you. The specific requirements can be found in the position profile of your desired area of assignment.
